“This piece started as a black panel whereupon I played with bold colours and shapes applied with brush, stencil, and palette knives. It has a graffiti feel to it, but evokes northern light patterns. After the bears went in, I carved out and reinforced some of the colour patterns giving it a stained-glass-window look. With its black painted edges, it can hang as is, but a thin charcoal floater would reinforce the black graphic lines very nicely.”
